New Years Eve 2008
Hundreds of people must walk past this flower each day, missing it by inches and not noticing.
It reminded me of ring tail possums I saw once in Hawthorn, Melbourne. I was outside a friend’s house at night, just observing. There was a plum tree overhanging a busy footpath. In a branch, only about 30cm above people’s heads, were a couple of ring tail possums eating plums. People were passing beneath them back and forth not noticing, and the possums were indifferent, knowing that they weren’t seen.
The flower is in Byron St. Hobart.
