Mother and the Trilobites

More pictures from our excursion to Southport  beach.

I don’t think I’ve seen mother of pearl shells this colour before. It is probably the intense cold that stresses them to go this colour – they are trying to please the gods and make the sun kick up the heat a bit.

The picture below is of trilobites that were supposed to be extinct 250 million years ago. They’ve obviously been preserved in Tassie’s freezer like conditions.
