19th November, Sullivan’s Cove.

These Seagulls were contemplating eating at Muirs – like me, they didn’t. If you know seagulls, you’ve just read a restaurant critique. It’s a pity they don’t drink coffee – the coffee there is good.

Along with my new camera, I bought a couple of sdhc 8gb cards. My laptop didn’t acknowledge their existence. My laptop has a Texas Instruments PCIxx12 integrated flash media controller. I’m sure it has a more model specific reference than that, but that’s how windows xp sees it. A little research online and it seems a fairly common controller and a fairly common problem. I tried a Microsoft fix that wouldn’t work. What did work was an updated driver from HP – thankyou HP. I couldn’t find any drivers on the Texas Instruments website, so assumed it is up to the laptop manufacturers, or I’m just too lazy to look properly.

My laptop is an acer, but I figured this wouldn’t matter, and it didn’t. HP simply had the latest version I could find – 2.0.0.7b. It’s here
