19th November 2009, Hobart
Some shots of the Hobart Rivulet under Hobart. Yep, that’s the rivulet, that little bit of water running down the middle (see below). But, it does flood, and sometimes to the ceiling. These tours are run depending on the weather.
Most of it is fairly dark, especially when the lights are off. In the above shot, there is an opening to the street above.
Apparently this crowd is fairly typical for this tour; middle aged and middle income. They have invaded the traditional haunt of graffiti painting youth.
Cave Clan is something I first saw graffitied at the exit of a huge stormwater drain running into the Yarra river in Melbourne. I have since seen it in many such drains while exploring. I always associated it with explorers of urban drains, which is apparently what the Cave Clan is. And, they did originate in Melbourne.
I saw Cave Clan graffitied in the Hobart Rivulet, along with their tags.
