“30th June 2008. This woman was part of the morning rush hour of people going to work. A mostly pedestrian procession, dressed for the office, wearing runners, with their office shoes in small backpacks.”

“30th June 2008. Well, it was Brisbane St or one of the others running North East in Hobart (Patrick, Melville or Bathurst?). It was pretty early, sunny but cold.”

“6th June 2008. Philipa and I were at the Quarry Salamanca bar. It was a quiet night there. It sounds seedy, and probably is, I took this photo in the men’s room - I think the dark surrounds appealed to me. More disturbing was the urinal - it is one way glass looking out into the beer garden; there is a table and chairs set up right outside it.”

“1st June 2008, on the Derwent River in Glenorchy. The boat had Rescue Boat written on it’s side - it looks like the back is low to drag things or people onto it. It was around 0900 in the morning, sunny but the wind was bitingly cold.”

This is the last of the lichen shots Andy sent me from his last walk. Best he gets his walking boots back on and gathers some more;>)

“Sunday 23rd June: We were walking along the road somewhere in Hobart, the sun was out, and Philipa’s hair just looked amazing; tresses of gold.”
