1st January 2004.
The coast between Maroubra and Sydney is spectacular. Sheer rock cliff faces down to the water on the points, and beautiful beaches in the little bays between them.
There is a track that runs most of the way into Sydney along the lip of the cliff face. This massive cemetary (you can make out the headstones on the horizon) is overlooking the ocean from the top of one of these cliffs. At the time, units and flats in this area were selling for a minimum of $500,000.

2nd January 2004, Maroubra.
Ella (the whippet) and I had the use of Therese’s unit in Maroubra, while she was house hunting in Melbourne in preparation for a move there.
It was a housing commission flat, in a four storey building of flats. Most of the occupants were low socio economic folk. In contrast, the neighbouring houses were multi million dollar mansions. The road finished at the Maroubra beach, 200m away
Therese has a great sense of humour, and really liked these stickers; they were on her kitchen window. I took a picture, so that she could keep them.

7th February 2004. Another one of our walks (Ella and I). It is somewhere around Sale. Before we left Sale, we had explored every track within 85km, on foot or bicycle. The bicycle we used is a story in itself.
Cows and horses were always curious with Ella. We would be walking across paddocks at night time, heading back to the car, Ella would start whining, I’d hear a noise behind us, shine my torch into the eyes of 60 or more cows that were following us. They are comical - when we walked, they walked; when we stopped, they stopped. This is exactly what happened when we were trying to take a shortcut, sneaking across an air force base, me, Ella, and 60 cows.
