Andy’s phone line is down, so I am taking advantage of his absence by putting a photo of him on poohduck today. This was taken whilst we were on holidays at Foster in September 2005. It was one of the sunrise excursions. Usually we took a week away each school holidays and at least one morning would aim to photograph the sunrise.
Andy is very still, quiet and patient when he is taking photos. He seems conscious of what he is doing and uses all the knobs on the camera and the tripod. He considers everything. I am random and get 50 shots of which one may be decent if I’m lucky. It’s not my thing!
I don’t think I’ve seen a sunrise this year!

“5th July 2008. Marilyn, a friend, works with glass. This is one of the pieces that she has given to me - it is about 3cm x 6cm. I was taking some macro shots of it in the sun, and I thought it might be interesting to get someone’s face behind it. I don’t have any WILLING models (I get told to put the camera away mostly), so I used myself.”

“6th June 2008. Philipa and I were at the Quarry Salamanca bar. It was a quiet night there. It sounds seedy, and probably is, I took this photo in the men’s room - I think the dark surrounds appealed to me. More disturbing was the urinal - it is one way glass looking out into the beer garden; there is a table and chairs set up right outside it.”

“This picture was taken at the end of March this year (2008) a few kilometres from the top of Mt Hartz. It was a shock for me to see snow in March. Susan Jenkins took the shot using my camera - a little waterproof 5 megapixel Pentax. I remember giving her a hard time because she was taking so long (poor woman), but I really like the shot.”
