This is one of the masks that decorates the wall of a Café (I forget the name). We stopped here for a coffee, and Philipa had a late breakfast. It is a long and narrow space. The waitresses were slim; Philipa hypothesised they were chosen for (as well as their obvious skills) their slimness to work in the narrow space. Another hypothesis was that their slimness added to the theme of the narrow venue.

“6th July 2008. Well I need a camera to put it on to. And a couple of other lenses. 

We were in the Quarry Salamanca; I was using Philipa’s glass of red wine as an impromptu fisheye lens. I was just getting the hang of things, when Philipa spat the dummy and started drinking - putting an end to my fisheye lens.”
