This is a mushroom that was under a log. That’s why you can see the lichen hanging down. Andy tells me it was the best angle to get close enough. The colour is gorgeous I reckon.

“Another walk with the Pandani bushwalkers. I can vouch for their good humour and toleranceJ - sometimes I just tune out when taking pictures, to find them waiting down the track when I return to the real world. Taken Sunday 8th June 08.”

“Some new stock. This is from this morning (1st June 08) from the banks of the Derwent River at Glenorchy (10min from Hobart). It was a beautiful sunny morning, but the wind was cold.”

“This shot was taken while I was walking with a club. It was in a temperate rainforest close to Hobart, so there wasn’t much light. I improvised using my tripod as a mono pod to get the extra height that I needed. Given more time I would have found a better positioned fern.”
