Somewhere on the Wellington Plateau with the Pandani Bushwalking Club.
These are gum nuts if you’re Australian, eucalyptus seeds if you’re not. They look like pies to me. And that reminded me of Joh’s son, Tom. He found this stupidly funny animation on the web, of this cartoon character who crapped on inanely with “I like pie, give me pie”. I tried to find a link to it, but no luck.
Tom is normally an intelligent and creative individual, but sometimes the guinea pigs in his head would take a break from turning the wheels. During these periods he would wander around in a sort of stupour imitating this animation “I like pie, give me pie”.
In hindsight, I feel sorry for Joh. Tom’s inane muttering and my motorsickle song.
But, then again, she probably deserved it

Somewhere on the Wellington Plateau, again, with the Pandani Bushwalking Club.
I can’t remember how the lighting happened on this. I never use the flash - and it’s the wrong angle.

Somewhere near Tom’s cap.
The ground on the plateau, and around it, is rocky. This is part of the root system of an upturned tree. The roots had wrapped around rocks so that the two were almost indistinguishable. I imagine the trees grab onto anything they can - it can get pretty windy up there. And it would be hard for them to dig deep in ground like this.

18th December 2008.
Taken on the Wellington Plateau during a walk with the Pandani Bushwalking Club. The above shot shows two lichens; the white one on the left and the black one on the right.
Only the white one is in focus, which was my intent at the time. I still like the shot though.

18th December 2008, Wellington Plateau.
I was on another walk with the Pandani Bushwalking Club. I don’t know if this has a name; it probably does and was probably mentioned. I was the only member to view it - there is a little jump of a metre or so, but across space and kind of around a boulder, to view it.
You can see the Tasman Bridge and Hobart in the background.
